Kim Klaver posted a fantastic little entry on her blog today referencing the great Seth Godin:
“The more people you reach……the more likely it is that you are reaching the wrong people. It’s who vs how many.”
Seth also talks about how industry is changing from appealing to the masses, to millions of niches. I think this is an undeniable truth for network marketing.
Although there are many products that you can get through a network marketing distributor that most certainly have mass appeal, we all know that idea MLM does not. (or at least most people’s idea of MLM does not).
So how does this apply to your business? Because network marketing is a relationship business. So you MUST build relationships in order to have success.
Getting caught up in the hype of the “3 Foot Rule” or talking to “anyone who breathes” about your business, is certainly a waste of time. Furthermore, it makes much more sense to find people who are either a) already interested in a product like the one you sell or b) are looking for a business opportunity.
Need some tips on this?
Go grab Kim’s eBook Friends, Lies and Network Marketing it will save you time from talking to the wrong people, and a whole heck of a lot of frustration.
