Metcalfe’s Law states that the value of a telecommunications network is proportional to the square of the number of users of the system.
How does this apply to your network marketing business?
Who do you know?
Who knows YOU?
I believe Robert Metcalfe only got it half right. It also depends on the quality of those connections doesn’t it?
If you are making a call, and the line is fuzzy and unclear, then the percieved value in your mind of that phone service might go down a notch in your mind, and also the person you are connecting with.
I would argue it is the same in your network marketing message. If you are vague, full of hype, or just unclear about your message, you can be sure that connection might not have the quality you want.
Alex Mandossian had a great post about this today.
He discusses the history of Metcalfe’s Law but also goes on to describe Reed’s Law which talks about sub-connections.
In network marketing, we talk about 6 degrees of seperation (sub-connections).
Alex is a master connector, and his post today on Who Knows You? (The Power of “Connecting”) is a good read.
Just thought I’d share
be well.
