Metcalfe’s Law states that the value of a telecommunications network is proportional to the square of the number of users of the system.
How does this apply to your network marketing business?
Who do you know?
Who knows YOU?
I believe Robert Metcalfe only got it half right. It also depends on the quality of those connections doesn’t it?
If you are making a call, and the line is fuzzy and unclear, then the percieved value in your mind of that phone service might go down a notch in your mind, and also the person you are connecting with.
I would argue it is the same in your network marketing message. If you are vague, full of hype, or just unclear about your message, you can be sure that connection might not have the quality you want.
Alex Mandossian had a great post about this today.
He discusses the history of Metcalfe’s Law but also goes on to describe Reed’s Law which talks about sub-connections.
In network marketing, we talk about 6 degrees of seperation (sub-connections).
Alex is a master connector, and his post today on Who Knows You? (The Power of “Connecting”) is a good read.
Just thought I’d share
be well.

Are you trying to be too safe?
Are you waiting until the PERFECT time, before you start working?
You know… Organizing your pens, straightening the papers on your desk, making the perfect schedule on your calendar, optimizing your website, using the best keywords, alphabetizing your prospect list, developing the flawless call script…
The list could go on, and on and on…
If you are doing these things - fine. But, how much time are you actually building you business? If the majority of time is spent on the later then you are Sucking all the juice out.

How do you generate your marketing materials? I generate it from what I want to learn. After all, that is what I am passionate about. I learn it better and better, through teaching others, here is how…
After I read books, listen to audio CD’s, or get information about anything that I want to retain and learn about, I start to blog about it.
Then the chain begins. Often, blogs are a great start to an article. Once the article is created, it can often lead to a series of articles. A series of articles can lead to an e-book. An e-book can lead to an e-course. An e-course can lead to a seminar.
All along creating inbound links to my products.
The real reason and big benefit behind it is to truly ingrain and learn the information that I initially set out to learn.
Do you see how this VERY post is a beginning to the chain??
Have fun!

Many companies say they have the BEST pay plan in the industry.
How do you know this is really true? More importantly, do you really care?
Jim Rohn calles MLM pay plans a mystery of life. I probably would not argue with that.
However, there is an interesting conversation taking place at MagneticSponsoring.com
Take a look, and let me know your thoughts.
To your success,
